Setup guide
Part 1Set up your Digital Car Scent
- Raise the atomizer headPush the atomizer head (the top of the diffuser). It rises up by itself.
- Fill and fit the bottleFill the 10 ml bottle with a Dr Scent car scent. Use fragrance oil only: never add water, not even purified water. Then screw the filled bottle onto the spray head.
- Push the head back inFit the atomizer head back into the body and push it down.
- Charge it if neededIf the battery is flat, charge it first. Plug the USB-C cable into the Type-C jack and the other end into a USB power source. On the screen, a red blinking battery means it is below 20%, and it turns green when full. While it charges, the screen lights for 10 seconds and then switches off. Press the button to check the charge.
- Turn it onLong press the power button for 4 seconds. The screen lights up and shows the time, date and mode, and it starts in Mode 1H. To turn it off, long press for 4 seconds again. Do not switch it on with an empty bottle.
Your Digital Car Scent is now running. Press the button to switch modes. To set the time and control it from your phone, connect it to the free Dr.Scent app.
Part 2Choose your mode
Press the power button to move to the next mode: 1H, then 1, 3, 5 and 10, then back to 1H. The screen shows the mode you are in. It switches the screen off after 1 minute to save power, and you can press the button to wake it. The shorter the pause, the stronger the scent. Longer pauses make a bottle last longer.

Part 3Control it from the app
- Turn on BluetoothMake sure Bluetooth is switched on on your phone.
- Download the appGet the free Dr.Scent app from the App Store or Google Play.
- Allow accessThe first time you open the app, it asks for two permissions:
- Allow "Dr.Scent" to use your location? Tap Allow Once.
- Allow "Dr.Scent" to find Bluetooth devices? Tap Allow.
- Skip the sign-inOn the log-in page, tap Skip Sign In. No account is needed to control it over Bluetooth.
- ConnectSwitch the diffuser on first. The Bluetooth icon on its screen blinks for 3 minutes while it waits for your phone. In the app, go to the Device tab, find your Digital Car Scent in the list and tap Connect. If the icon stops blinking before you connect, switch the diffuser off and on again. Pull down to refresh if you don't see it.
- Set it upOnce connected, the app sets the correct time, week and date on the diffuser's screen. From the app you can also set the scent intensity and schedule the days and times it works.
Good to know
- Keep it upright. Do not tilt or turn it over. If it gets knocked over, switch it off, remove the spray head, take the bottle off the head, wipe off the oil with a tissue and a little diluted detergent, and let it dry naturally.
- Keep it cool. Avoid direct sun and heat, and do not leave it in a car above 50 °C. Keep it on a flat surface away from the TV and other devices.

2. How long does a bottle of car scent last?
On Mode 3, a 10 ml car scent gives about 10 hours of running time in Digital Car Scent. It has 5 modes: press the power button to switch between them, and the screen shows the one you are in.

3. Which oil should I buy?
Digital Car Scent holds a 10 ml bottle. Use our 10 ml car scents: one bottle fills it.
4. How do I control it?
With the power button and the LED screen on the unit, or with the Dr Scent app on your phone via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, or by voice with Alexa. Long press the button for 4 seconds to turn it on (it starts in Mode 1H) and long press for 4 seconds again to turn it off. Press the button to switch between the 5 modes: 1H, 1, 3, 5 and 10. The screen shows the time, date and mode. The app sets the correct time and date, and lets you schedule when it works.
5. How is it powered?
Built-in rechargeable battery (2200 mAh), charged with the USB-C cable included (5V, 1A). On the screen, a red blinking battery means it is below 20%, and it turns green when full. While it charges, the screen lights for 10 seconds and then switches off. Press the button to check the charge. It fits your cup holder.
6. Can I use a home aroma oil in it?
No. Home aroma oils have a different oil concentration, and using one in a car diffuser can damage the way it diffuses. Use our 10 ml car scents.
7. How do I clean and maintain it?
Clean it every 5–6 uses, or every 3–5 days. Switch it off, remove the spray head, then take the bottle off the spray head. Wipe the unit with a cloth and warm water with a little neutral detergent. If you find dirt in the straw, take the straw out and clean it. Clean the nozzle first whenever you want to change to another scent. Never use medical alcohol, benzene or ethanol, as they can damage the diffuser and wipe off the markings.
If you won't use it for a long time, pour out the oil left in the bottle, clean the unit and store it somewhere dry. Do not take the diffuser apart or try to repair it yourself, and do not block the mist outlet, as oil can build up inside and damage it.

9. What if it tips over or leaks?
Keep the diffuser in a standing position, and avoid flipping it or turning it upside down while the bottle is filled with oil. If it gets knocked over while it is working: switch it off and remove the spray head, take the oil bottle off the spray head, then wipe the oil off the unit with a tissue and a little diluted detergent. Let it dry naturally in a safe place. Wipe any spilled oil off surfaces straight away, as essential oil can stain. Do not let the spray hit furniture, clothes or walls.
10. Can I leave it in a hot car?
Avoid direct sun, and keep it away from air-conditioning vents, fans and other heat. Do not use or leave it in a car where the temperature goes above 50 °C. Place it on a flat surface, away from the TV and other devices.
11. Why did it switch off by itself?
A few things switch it off on purpose. It has fall protection, so it turns itself off if it falls over or is turned upside down (if it is charging, it keeps charging). Each mode also turns off automatically after its set time: 1 hour on Mode 1H, 4 hours on Modes 1, 3 and 5, and 24 hours on Mode 10. After a long run, give it 60 minutes off to protect the pump. If the screen goes dark, it has only switched the screen off after 1 minute to save power: press the button to wake it.
12. Can I add water, or run it without oil?
No. Use fragrance oil only. Water, including purified water, is not allowed. Do not switch it on with an empty bottle, and note that it does not turn itself off when the oil runs out, so switch it off by hand.
13. What if the app will not find my diffuser?
Switch the diffuser on and make sure Bluetooth is on on your phone. The Bluetooth icon on the diffuser's screen blinks for 3 minutes while it waits to connect. In the app, open the Device tab, pull down to refresh, find your Digital Car Scent and tap Connect. If the icon has stopped blinking, switch the diffuser off and on again. Still stuck? Contact us.
